International Women's Day
International Women's Day (IWD) is celebrated annually on March 8th to recognize the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day is also a call to action for gender equality and women's rights. This year's theme for International Women's Day is "Choose to Challenge." The theme encourages individuals to challenge gender bias and inequality, and take action to create a more inclusive world. Gender inequality remains a pervasive problem across the globe. Women continue to face barriers in accessing education, healthcare, employment opportunities, and equal pay for equal work. Women also continue to experience violence, harassment, and discrimination in their daily lives. The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated existing inequalities and created new challenges for women.
